“The soul is healed by being with children” has always been one of my favorite quotes.

This  week I stopped by Harlem Children's Zone to soak up some healing joy!

Thank you to all child care workers across NYC for the love and warmth you bring each and every day.

1 in 2 women and 1 in 3 men in the US will be survivors of sexual violence in their lifetime. I’m wearing denim today to honor and uplift survivors, to celebrate 25 years of advocacy, and to reenergize ourselves to create a world free from sexual violence.

In partnership with New Destiny Housing, Mayor Eric Adams launches Project Home, providing rapid housing assistance to domestic violence survivors in shelter. DV is a leading cause of homelessness in NYC, & through this program we’re connecting more survivors with safe, permanent housing.

USGS confirms aftershock has taken place. At this point we have no major damage reports coming in. Please call 911 for life safety issues & 311 for non-emergencies. Check in on your family & friends, esp. those who are vulnerable & have accessibility & functionality issues.

We just felt what we assume is a small aftershock in New York City to today's earthquake.

We are waiting on confirmation from USGS.

NYC Emergency Management will have an update shortly.

New York City just felt the impacts of a 4.8 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter of Lebanon, New Jersey.

Mayor Eric Adams is being briefed. While we do not have any reports of major impacts at this time, we’re still assessing the impact.

NYC, Chicago, Denver, and now Massachusetts are using all the tools available to manage this national humanitarian crisis but it's clear we need more help. We will always do our part, but need the federal government to step up and finish their job.
