It was great to visit Scunthorpe Hospital NHS NLaG today to discuss the work they’re doing to cut waiting times.

A £101 million programme to improve their facilities has almost doubled the size of their A&E department, with a new Same Day Emergency Care unit opening last month.

Pleased that we have agreed an offer for specialist, associate specialist and speciality doctors in England.

I visited Chorley and South Ribble hospital to discuss how they are supporting patients and helping to cut waiting lists. NHS North West

It was great to visit Wrightington Hospital to see their orthopaedic surgical hub, which has been delivering key activity for patients since August 2021.

We are cracking on with delivering the doubling of medical school places.

205 additional places already confirmed for this September.

And today we allocate 350 places for 2025, awarded to medical schools up and down the country, helping to level up access to medical degrees.

An NIHR Research HMG backed trial has helped restore a girl’s hearing & could do the same for children across the world. It marks an historic milestone as we develop a cure for this kind of deafness and I am determined to build on this innovation.
