'Carbon capture & storage' in any viable (ie real) form is a monster lie pushed for – literally – three decades. It's never happened & never will. (Remember the 'clean coal' headlines in the 1990s? That's CCS). It is very helpful for ALP politicians seeking $$, mind you. Broken.

And this is why the ALP is doing it. They know they can get away with it thanks to mountains of misinformation that has been sown into the electorate for years by vested interests, eg gas being 'widely perceived' as 'vital asset' in transition. 'Perceived' is the key part here.

The ALP is openly, aggressively, captured by pretty much all available vested interests, from fossil fuels to finance. And they revel in it. If there's some way they can be captured & corrupted to screw over the public for a bit of $$ – they want in. They're not even pretending.
