This is a drainage system from a Minoan domestic structure at Palaikastro, Crete. It initially didn't work, so a terracotta channel was added to correct the problem.

A grave in a Roman cemetery at Sagalassos was covered in tiles. This, along with the use of lime and nails to 'magically' seal the graves suggests that the residents were taking measures to prevent the deceased's return!

For , this is a church dedicated to the man carved out of the rock at Lalibela (🇪🇹). It's one of 11 at the site and legend says it was built after St George came to the king in a dream.
