I am heartbroken to announce that Jeffrey Veregge has passed away. He was a hero, and artist, and a friend. The last being the most important. I loved him.

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of artist Jeffrey Veregge.

Jeffrey was a great guy and an amazing, utterly unique artist. I was lucky enough to publish his first pro comic work.

He was stricken with Lupus in 2021 and sadly never recovered. R.I.P.

Promote your game.

Artists not only bring their talent/skills/insights to the game. They often bring an audience, a community, fans.

When there are so many wonderful board games releasing every month, there's no reason to spend even one minute on a game nobody bothered to fully author. If they don't care enough about their own creation to see it through to completion, why should I care about it?

Once more, my policy at Space-Biff! is that I don't cover board games that use gussied-up autocomplete to skip an essential part of the creative process, aka 'AI art.'

just hit me in the chest. I worked with her few times, she was a delight and her exceptionality just poured from her. In plus of her talent, she always crusaded for women’s rights in and out the industry. We will miss you a lot Trina.

“I don’t have the art skills to realize my vision” is not an excuse. Don’t act like custom illustrations are keeping you from making a game. At least be honest. You feel entitled to something and don’t want to put in the effort for an ethical solution but still want to profit.

Dismayed at the idea of Awakened Realms using AI generated illustrations AND dismayed at the convo in this post in which multiple people defend AI images as “art for the little guys”. Just cuz you’re indie doesn’t mean you should stand the hands of artists to get your sliver.
