Don’t get me wrong, I like the money that comes with the hours I’m working right now, but multiple 9+ hour shifts in a row is doing a number on my knees lately. Still breaking in my new work shoes.

I find having a disability that doesn’t always require a visible mobility aid means that I have to explain to people that I’m disabled. That they don’t see that I’m wearing compression socks and knee braces every day at work. That I have to ice my knees when I get home at night.

I’m late but happy 4/20! I personally use cannabis to manage my chronic joint pain and regulate my sleep cycle. If you live in a place with legalized cannabis fight to help free everyone that has been jailed for weed related crimes (mostly black and brown people).

Today makes two years since our friend and founder, Teighlor McGee, passed away. A true leader, lover, and visionary. We miss her everyday, and we are always doing our best to honor her work, life, and legacy.

I somehow forget that during this time of year my body is brought back to my final days with Teighlor. My brain & body are remembering everything, and I’m feeling it all over again. I’m unsure how to hold space within myself for all of these feelings and emotional flashbacks.

To go from risking my (at the time) dream job to get drunk, to actually working my dream jobs and being sober is so surreal sometimes.

As of today I am 4 years alcohol free!

The inconsistency in the weather here is really messing with my body. Both my skin condition, and my joint pain. My body has no idea what to do. I can only imagine how the trees must feel.
