It has been seven years since the Tuvel affair. That episode, along with the treatment of Kathleen Stock, woke me from my dogmatic slumber regarding the state of philosophy, and of academia more generally. I am definitely not an optimist, but I think things have improved.

UPDATE: after the journal initially accepted Perry Hendricks’ paper on abortion, the editor of The New Bioethics, Matthew James, has decided to *rescind* the acceptance and reject the paper because people complained online.

His reason?
