Another journal completed - this one was a stop-gap when I left my ongoing one at my parents' over February half term, but it's been fun to have my own little Veronica Sawyer moment (without the murder count, obviously!)

The strangest Easter holiday, and the strangest first day not going back to school. But my journal stays the same. Still pretty, still full of all the words that fill my head and need to go somewhere!

If I could change one thing to make life easier for people with ADHD

I would delete the idea that forgetting something is an indication of how important that thing is to the person who forgot it.

saw a tiktok that said “people with adhd don’t fall asleep, they pass out” and this is why it’s so hard to be both adhd and autistic because i don’t have the energy to tire myself out so i will be tired all day but then not be able to sleep at night !!!

Remember that time Corrie had a trans character and it caused such a stir people refused to call her a woman, boycotted the programme and the whole country was in a toxic uproar about it. No me either. Simpler times.

Found Patrick accusing Dylan of having in difficult to watch, mainly because I’ve faced similar suggestions, but I loved Dylan’s response.

Whether a person does or doesn’t have doesn’t mean they can’t pursue & perform well in their career.😊

💕

Noise cancelling headphones, ear plugs, ear defenders, etc.

These are not accessibility.

These are accommodations.

They don‘t fix the problem, they mitigate it.

Not everyone can wear them - either always or at all.

They can cause issues (pressure, pain, headaches, etc.)

Talk today on and lots of questioning rates, do we need diangosis, it is fashionable. You know what use to happen? We would die. The rates of suicide in all of these are massive. cam.ac.uk/research/news/…

One of the most debilitating aspects of my ADHD is definitely RSD (rejection sensitive dysphoria).

It’s not just “a bit sensitive“, it’s an overwhelming, debilitating, uncontrollable reaction that often takes me into complete executive dysfunction.

'Do we actually know what a healthy, thriving autistic person looks like?'

This cuts deep. It is not easy living in a world not built for us, not easy to be up against that every day.

The first same-sex weddings in the UK took place on 29th March 2014.

In my inclusive book GLITTER BOY, James’s teacher Mr Hamilton gets married to his husband Sam and the school choir sing at their wedding. Here’s one of my favourite moments from the story:
