Conflict is at the root of the hunger crisis in the Sudan region. World Food Programme urgently needs:
1. Access
2. Funding
Without worldwide attention and immediate financial support, the future of the entire region is at stake.

In Geneva for the #Ethiopia High-Level Pledging Event. With our revamped program World Food Programme has reached over 3 million people hit by acute food insecurity due to conflict & climate change. More funding needed to sustain & scale up aid, and invest in efforts to break the cycle of needs.
One year ago, conflict broke out in #Sudan , threatening the stability of an entire region.
Since then, we’ve stayed engaged and continued to support the people of Sudan.
Today, we're stepping up our work with UNICEF & World Food Programme to preserve basic services and community resilience.
Visited UN Humanitarian Response Depot Brindisi together with World Food Programme Executive Board. This WFP-managed platform offers supply chain solutions so UN and humanitarians can deliver in emergencies, from #Gaza to #Sudan . Impressive team! Good example of how we can collaborate in this time of growing crises.
Report released today shows famine expected between now & May in northern Gaza.
World Food Programme doing all we can to avert. 18 truck convoy reached the north today. Shows it can be done. Sustained road access into & within Gaza critical to deliver the volumes needed.

Economically empowering women is key for food security, and a priority for World Food Programme.
As the largest humanitarian cash provider, we channel money into women’s hands to:
- Give women control of their lives
- Pull families out of poverty
- Make economies grow
#InternationalWomensDay
I asked Deputies and colleagues of the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) what three words they associate with this year's theme for International Women's Day...
#InvestInWomen to accelerate progress.
Here's what they had to say ❤️
Important points here. Thanks World Bank for championing the need to stay engaged in fragile & conflict-affected contexts.
World Food Programme is with you. Together, we work to save lives but also change lives by breaking the cycles of fragility. And we are gearing up to do even more.
