Cool to see our client, ThriftBooks, in this one. Great piece by Kelsey.

Beyond BookTok, what happens to any of these niche communities that have developed on TikTok if it’s truly banned. The TikTok community experience is hard to replicate.

Chris is right in that ad blocking doesn't get enough air time.

There's some interesting stuff going on in the space ATM -- the Safari 'erase' tool being the least so.

1. Chrome is shifting from Manifest V2 to V3 this year. Ad blocking extensions will have less control/ability…

Apple’s Safari, the most popular mobile browser in the U.S., with 55% of the market, wants to auto-block ads.

It's remarkable how little we all talk about ad-blocking as the main cause of publisher demonetization. Inertia set in and everyone kind of just moved on.

We were acquired by Mod Op, too, and it has been awesome. 🙏 A great group of people to work with!

I shared this with the LAM Design team last year when the deal convo was occurring. Glad it’s official - congrats to LAM and welcome to the MO fam!

Not thoughtful, actually.

Seinfeld rightfully points out that there's no longer a pop culture because we don't just have 3 TV channels anymore. But he misattributes the outcome of that - comedy being less dominant culturally - to the 'far left' and 'PC culture.”

That’s dumb.

Good one by Scott Nover.

Last year, for The Drum, I coined “impatient intelligence”—the rush to build and deploy AI without giving enough attention to quality.

Companies are even willing to push bad user experiences just to be first/stock pump. This is a perfect example.
