Our School of Government class learned what it takes to be a Kissimmee Police Officer with hands-on activities, a ride through our driving course, a forensics crash course, and first-hand lessons from our KPD heroes.

Today, we bid farewell to former City of Kissimmee Commissioner Richard Herring, a dedicated public servant who shaped our city's history. From critical roles in city boards to co-founding the Bataan-Corregidor Memorial, his legacy will forever inspire us.

We have been allocated $1.8 million by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, aligning with our commitment to address the critical need for affordable housing. This substantial investment is designated for The Haven on Vine.

Our 2024 School of Government has officially begun! Last night featured presentations from the City Manager, Strategic Communications Division, and City Clerk's Office. Over nine weeks, participants will explore city services through hands-on activities, demos, and tours.

Fire Station 12 (1402 Denn John Lane) will host KFD's first open house of the year on Saturday, April 13, from 10 am to 2 pm. There will be free food, activities, live demonstrations, and firsthand glimpses into daily life as a firefighter.

Last night, we continued celebrating Women's History Month by honoring women in our community who have made a positive impact. Thank you for making our City a more dynamic and compassionate place to live. 🌟
