HISTORIC PRESERVATION: The City of Sarasota is honored to be the first municipality presented with the Florida Archaeological Council’s Stewards of Heritage award!

The City was recognized for its longstanding, 50-year commitment to historic preservation efforts.

The City Commission proclaimed May 2024 as 'National Cities, Towns, and Villages Month' in recognition of the support and community championed by National League of Cities.

Federal advocacy provided by organizations like NLC improve quality of life in municipalities nationwide.

Congratulations to Nick Dazio and Arthur Mugan, who work in the Records Division of the City Auditor & Clerk’s Office, for being recognized as May 2024’s Team of the Month!

The City is fortunate to have outstanding teams like Nick and Arthur who go above and beyond every day!

Congratulations to our May Employee of the Month, Marketing & Outreach Coordinator Ciera Coleman!

Ciera has been with the City since 2021 and is known for her cheerful demeanor, collaborative spirit and exceptional contributions to the Government Relations Department.

The City Commission has recognized June 6, 2024, as D-Day Commemoration Day.

The Choral Artists of Sarasota will perform on May 26 at the Sarasota Opera House and on June 6 at American cemeteries in Normandy and Brittany to honor those who lost their lives in this heroic action.
