Falmouth Coastguard is appealing for urgent information to locate the owner of an emergency distress beacon (EPIRB) which was activated at about 1pm today HEX ID 9D0E1D1A3000001

Life jackets and buoyancy aids purchased from several different online marketplaces have been recalled over safety concerns.

Owners are advised to cease use of the recalled products.

Weather warnings have been issued as #StormKathleen hits the UK and Ireland this weekend.

They are exceptionally helpful when we need to locate a casualty.

In an emergency, call 999, ask for the Coastguard and quote the number presented on the sign.

If you are at the coast, stay well back from cliff edges and stay away from the water’s edge.

Large waves are expected which can easily knock you off your feet and carry you out to sea.

But it's a fast moving streak of the jet stream that helps #Kathleen rapidly deepen on Friday, bringing some very strong winds to the UK on Saturday

⚠️ Storm Kathleen has been named by Met Éireann and is forecast to bring strong winds to Cornwall on Saturday (Apr 6).

A yellow weather warning is in place from 8am until 10pm.
