Today is Denmark's Liberation Day🕊️
On 4 May 1945, Denmark was announced liberated from Germany after more than five years of occupation. On 5 May 1945, Danes went to the streets and waved the Danish flag in celebration of the liberation with the arrival of the English troops🇩🇰

Tonight, Danes will put candles in their windows🕯️
79 years ago, on the evening of 4 May 1945, it was announced that Denmark was liberated from the German occupation. Ever since it has been a tradition for Danes to put candles in their windows to cherish freedom and democracy🕊️

A 🇵🇹submarine is currently visiting Nuuk. With support from a 🇩🇰 vessel, ARPÃO will train in 🇬🇱 waters.

Following the succession of the 🇩🇰 throne in January, King Frederik X and Queen Mary have published their first official gala portraits. The King has extensive experience from the military, including the naval special forces ('Frogmen'). As King, he is now General and Admiral.

'The security environment has seriously deteriorated since the Danish Defence Agreement was made in 2023. Therefore, we speed up the investments in a number of military capacities, in order to enhance NATO's collective defence', says 🇩🇰 Minister of Defence, Troels Lund Poulsen.

Denmark remains one of the most dedicated donors of aid to Ukraine. Now, 🇩🇰 parliament has agreed to spend an additional 4,4 bil. DKK in military support to 🇺🇦 in 2024.

Denmark is proud to participate in the Baltic Air Policing since the first deployment in 2004 ✈️
