More reprocessing of real data. The Crab nebula in the constellation of Taurus. The remains of a star that went supernova (Literally blew itself apart) in 1054, which was witnessed and recorded by Chinese astronomers. This is 6,500 light years from Earth.

If you can't beat them, join them. Here's my image of yesterdays total solar eclipse seen from the Grand Canyon, with icebergs floating in the Colorado River. Is that reAIlistic enough?😜🀣 What a flipping crazy world this is.

A favourite of mine, NGC4565. An edge on spiral galaxy in Coma Berenices. It lies about 40 million light years from us and it is roughly 234,000 light years in diameter. The dark dust lanes in the spiral arms are very distinct.

A quick image taken last night in the incoming murk of Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS), which MIGHT🀞 give us a great show this coming October. More details about the comet and what could be expected is here:

Live streaming the 2024 total solar eclipse at Northampton Natural History Society, Astro Section last night, then presenting our trip to Jackson Hole in Wyoming in 2017. A great eclipse evening, despite not being there. Great to see folks images popping up today. 😍

A reprocess of the Hercules globular cluster, Messier 13 from a DSLR image I took from home in 2014. Reprocessed using my latest workflow. If you have my Affinity book, this is the same stacked image available from my file download page.

The image processing mayhem continues. Here's Omega Centauri captured in March 2009 from Tenerife. Processed in Affinity Photo as well as Blur Xterminator in PixInsight.

Re-process of last nights image using Affinity Photo's tone mapping and other tools to reveal a bit more of the tail/s.
Then sharpened using Blur Xterminator in Pixinsight.

This evening's Comet 12P / Pons-Brooks.
Had to go out in the wilds to get a decent low horizon, but interfering clouds only allowed me to catch a few sub-exposures of it close to the 2nd magnitude star Hamal in Aries. This is a very nice comet, but now getting a real challenge.

Fighting the neighbours trees, clouds, light pollution and a huge dust bunny (flats to be taken and added later) I managed to catch Comet 12P / Pons-Brooks before it went behind the neighbours roof. I might have to go mobile very soon. Easily visible in 10x40 bins.
