I’ve been asked several times what I think of the new widely-quoted research paper that claims having two copies of ApoE4 represents a “distinct genetic form of Alzheimer’s disease.” Here’s my response: apollohealthco.com/false-hopeless…

Despite hitting the market over a year ago, Leqembi has had a less-than-stellar rollout. Chalk that up to price, limited results (just a modest slowing of decline), and the fact that most insurers won’t cover it because of the extreme side effects. apnews.com/article/alzhei…

Intermittent fasting (IF) is one of the most popular diets in America, and fasting for 12-16 hours is part of KetoFLEX 12/3. Research shows that IF helps with weight loss, CVD, cancer, and more. Now, a mouse study has found that it protects your gut. medicalnewstoday.com/articles/can-i…

New research from USC has found that a diet that mimics fasting can lower your risk of disease and reduce your biological age. Their fasting-mimicking diet (FMD) is a five-day diet high in unsaturated fats and low in calories, carbs, and protein. sciencedaily.com/releases/2024/…

Research has found a variant in the FN1 (fibronectin, part of the matrix outside cells) gene that could act as a counterbalance for the ApoE4 allele. The team is confident that this FN1 variant could lead to new therapies to treat dementia. sciencealert.com/scientists-fin…

As I told the Huffington Post, brain health should be a lifelong goal, and your lifestyle matters at every age. If you’re 20 or 30, it’s important to take steps now! But no matter your age, avoid processed foods, smoking, sleep loss, and stress as a start.

In a first, researchers have found microplastics in arterial plaque and correlated their presence with an increased risk for cardiovascular events like heart attack and stroke.

One great way to cut microplastic exposure is to avoid plastic tea bags.  healthline.com/health-news/mi…

Researchers are ramping up their quest for dementia-detecting blood tests. Will this lead to earlier effective treatment with personalized protocols, or more sales of ineffective drugs? I hope we begin to see a reduction in the global burden of dementia. sciencefocus.com/the-human-body…
