After a fiercely busy week, here I am on the beautiful Clyde coast getting ready for tomorrow morning’s opening session of the Cove & Kilcreggan Book Festival, when I interview Nicola Sturgeon about her life as a reader, and her favourite books. Looking forward to it!

I feel quite a lot might have happened today. And that much of its unbelievable.

Looking at the damage the rain has caused around Argyll on social media. It will be days if not weeks before a lot of the critical transportation links are open again. If this area is to have any economic future, there needs to be MASSIVE investment in resilience and adaptation.

There's no point getting people through medical school if we then drive them out of the NHS afterwards.
