Another great photo on display in our Towns Through Time exhibition. Church Street in the early 1960s showing the Waltham Abbey Club. The Waltham Abbey Club was originally built as a Baptist Chapel. These buildings were later demolished. #FlashbackFriday
Join us on Saturday 4th of May to make Anglo-Saxon helmets for our Holy Cross Arts and Crafts activity. £3 per child. No need to book, just drop in between 10am–4pm. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. #WalthamAbbey #FamilyFun #AngloSaxon #Museum #Holycross
#FlashbackFriday ! Here’s a lovely old photo of the old almshouses, Coppice Row in Theydon Bois, taken in the 1920s. They are now private individual cottages. #FlashbackFriday #TheydonBois #almshouses

Did you know? The museum has a large collection relating to the Met Police service in Waltham Abbey and the local area (known as J Division). This cell door is one of many items from Waltham Abbey Police Station on Sun Street, which closed in 2011. #policestation #walthamabbey
