Today, just in the nick of time, the Environmental Audit Committee has published its report into the sustainable electrification of the economy. It's a dense report and makes a number of recommendations. It is required reading for the next government 🧵.
A drop in the price cap offers some relief for customers who were facing bills that were hundreds of pounds higher this time last year. We hope to see the next Government work with industry and Ofgem to make bills affordable long-term. Read EUK's response: energy-uk.org.uk/news/energy-uk…
As Adam Scorer said on the radio this morning - a fall in the price cap is good, obviously, but there are many households still struggling and £3bn+ of debt still being managed by suppliers. Much more to be done on bills, support, and retail under the next Government.
