The question of whether the airstrike on the tents in Rafah was a mistake or not is barely relevant when the unconscionable devaluing of Palestinian life as collateral damage has been the policy of this war all along.

Biden went on national television, made a very clear commitment to stop giving Israel specific types of weapons if Israel does exactly what it did last night, and now the White House is “assessing.” If this does not end with cutting off weapons to Israel, there is no credibility.

The words of regret we hear from our elected officials should turn to ash in their mouths. Instead, those words emerge as a bland accompaniment to the bombs we pay for that turn Palestinian children into literal ash.
