In this video, male medical students of Nangarhar university r leaving the uni to show solidarity with their female classmates who r banned from receiving an education by the Taliban. Very proud to see this resistance. It is a clear message to the Taliban.

I strongly condemn the Taliban's decision to ban women from universities. This is heartbreaking for not just all the women of Afghanistan but for the future of the country as a whole. The women and girls of Afghanistan have a right to education at all levels.

The moments of joy have been very rare for Afghanistan in the past year. Now that Eid is here, we must seize this moment & celebrate it. Joy, Humour, & occasional celebrations are like lifelines in this crisis. I pray joy becomes contiguous.

For so long I resisted restricting replies to my tweets, thinking I must hear everyone's voice & opinion. But seems I have reached my limits. Criticism & counter-arguments must be presented with dignity otherwise I won't hear you.

Taliban must remove their ban on girls' secondary education immediately. Rather they must invest their energy in creating education oppt for their soldiers many of who have never attended school or have left it to join the Taliban's training camp at a young age.
