🇩🇪 Germany has pledged additional funding of 60 million € to #WFP in #Afghanistan and its neighboring countries. This will help to strengthen the humanitarian response and benefit Afghan victims of the #HeratEarthquake and Afghan returnees at the border to Pakistan.

Thank you, #Germany , for your new contribution of €5 mil to the AHF for 2023 to support life-saving activities in #Afghanistan . A core and multi-year contributing donor to the AHF, Germany contributed over €210 mil to the #AHF since the Fund’s inception.

As needs increase, #EU remains committed to supporting partners UNHCR Afghanistan and IOM Afghanistan to help, protect and provide basic services to Afghans returning from Pakistan.

At #HRC53 , Germany reiterates its full support for #humanrights in #Afghanistan . The Taliban systematically discriminate against women and girls, as the recent report by UN Special Rapporteur Richard Bennett shows again. 🇩🇪 is deeply concerned and urges the Taliban to end gender-based discrimination.
