Adams Inlet seen from the air this past March. Spanning almost 10 miles from end to end, Adams Inlet is a large inlet branching off of Glacier Bay's East Arm. As recently as 1929, a glacier filled this Inlet.

A beautiful morning in Bartlett Cove! Temps dropped into the 20s last night, leaving a thin layer of ice on our back-office lagoon. Water is calm on this crystal clear day. Might be a good day for kayaking! Learn about paddling in the Bay: nps.gov/glba/planyourv…

Is that a sea otter waving at you? Otterly unbelievable. Looks inviting, mustelid we investigate? You otter join them and find out what they want. Okay fine, we'll sea ourselves ott. If we're stoat-ally honest, even we get tired of puns sometimes.

We were hoping for a baby shark appearance... but this will do. (doo doo, doo doo doo)
Not sure what's more beautiful, this blue sky scenery, the Fairweather Range in the sun, or this bright and shiny USCG patrol boat adorning the Bartlett Cove dock today. U.S. Coast Guard U.S. Coast GuardAlaska

Hello spring and hello sun 🌞
We're enjoying foggy morning sunlight to welcome the spring season. The spring equinox is one of two days a year where nearly everywhere on Earth experiences equal daytime and nighttime. Let's celebrate this connection we all share!

You know who never skipped a leg day?
Hint: she's looking at you right now.

Sliding into the weekend like...
A river otter! One of our favorite sights to see are river otters sliding down snow hills as if they're practicing for the luge. You can often spot 'otter chutes' on snow-covered hills leading to water sources.

What makes a glacier? Snow! And lots of it...
When snow builds upon itself, it compacts, eventually compressing into ice in the form of a glacier.
