Outlawing acknowledgement and discussion of climate change is just dumb, especially in a state that stands to lose big as climate change worsens. washingtonpost.com/weather/2024/0…

A good chance we’ll see more of this mayhem as climate change worsens. Even 30 years ago some climate scientists were anticipating what’s now happening. washingtonpost.com/weather/2024/0…

We were looking at (and enjoying) Michigan weather over the weekend and I like this wind velocity graphic that clearly highlights the Great Lakes on the basis of their association with higher wind speeds. Wind energy galore!

Texas has been inundated w/ weeks of rain - (30”+) in a month N of Houston. Tonight tornadoes and a derecho. The storms are riding the edge of the huge heat dome across Central America, helping power the severe weather. Same dome that brought big early season heat to S FL.

It’s mid-May - holy cow. Off the charts warmth in Florida, interestingly yet another state that officially denies climate change. Hope the hurricane season doesn’t deliver the mayhem some are predicting, but this unprecedented heat is an ominous sign.
