Cherokee County was so red, it looked burgundy, with a sprinkling of tiny blue dots. “Are those the Democrats?” I ask. “Like, three Democrats live east of Holly Springs?”

Baverman laughs. “No,” she says, “I think those are ponds.”

One big thing that bugs me about DoD: Endlessly reviewing tactical errors while ignoring bigger strategic failures that played out over decades. Still a good scoop via Dan Lamothe

Great Jonathan Martin jam.

The craziest thing you can say on Washington cocktail/diplo circuit right now?

That you think Biden will win.

CW in DC so much favors DJT, that few can see what data clearly shows:

A coin-toss race right now & Biden is gaining.

An amazing tribute to the wonderful war photographer Anja Niedringhaus, who was killed in Afghanistan 10 years ago this week. Her photos are her legacy. npr.org/sections/pictu…

There’s a punching down quality to this piece that leaves me feeling bleh. Famous novelist mocks the proles for blowing money on a cruise.
The super rich also have obscene tastes. See Jeff Bezos’s ridiculous yacht. So why pick on the little guy?

Now the hard part - telling older people struggling to maintain hope in Alabama’s violent prisons & praying this bill would pass that the politics of fear & hate are still more powerful than faith, love, redemption & forgiveness.

The NLRB told Starbucks to reinstate a shift supervisor named Alexis Rizzo after illegally firing her last year.

Alexis was a founder of Starbucks Workers United and believed her firing was retaliation. The NLRB agreed.
