Samira from Hassakeh shows us resilience in action.
After her husband’s death and losing her small business, she’s now back with a household appliance shop after qualifying for a grant from ICRC & Syrian Red Crescent. She hopes her profits will revive the clothes shop dream one day.
Nadwa aims to secure her children's education with the profits from the mini-market she opened in Hassakeh with the help of a grant from ICRC and Syrian Red Crescent. She dreams of expanding to sell more items and better serve her community.
'I can't give up sewing. This is what I've been doing for 45 years. My life has changed after receiving the sewing machine.' Um Ammar says.
Supported by the ICRC & Syrian Red Crescent, Um Ammar has rebuilt her business and is teaching sewing to other women.
The solar energy provided by ICRC, Syrian Red Crescent & the Syrian Ministry of Health in Al-Zahira polyclinic in Damascus will help:
✅ Preserve meds & cold chain items quality.
✅ Provide better services for diabetic patients.
✅ Enhance the staff work environment.
To improve safety and access to power and water for more than 47K people in Quneitra countryside, ICRC with Syrian Red Crescent provided 12 transformers that will reduce the load and power outages in the area.
On #WorldWaterDay , half of #Syria ’s water infrastructure is partially or not functioning.
In 2023, our work with Syrian Red Crescent helped 17 million Syrians gain improved access to clean water.
Supporting 2100 pregnant & lactating women, and children with vital meals 4 days a week in ICRC & Syrian Red Crescent’s collective kitchen in Al-Hol Camp in Hassakeh.
This kitchen was opened in 2019 after the displacement wave to alleviate people's suffering there.
