Armed Suspect Threatening Others Leads to Officers Involved Shooting

A second briefing will take place in about 10 minutes.

A firearm was located near the scene.

No uninvolved citizens were injured during this incident, and we do not believe there is a threat to this area or neighborhood.

Broadway Street between 38th and 40th will be shut down for next few hours due to this investigation.

Just after 2:15pm, officers responded to the 3900 Blk of N Broadway St for an adult male waving a gun, pointing it at people and threatening to shoot. Minutes later, an officer involved shooting occurred. The suspect was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Media is asked to stage on the NW corner of 38th and Park.

IMPD officers are on scene of an incident in the 3900 block of Broadway Street.

There was an officer-involved shooting. No officers were injured.
