So ultimately the #Chiefs added $4M to Kelce's contract, basically giving him back what he had moved forward in the past and a bit more of a bump. While this will be valued around a $17M extension it basically just escalates his original contract from $14.3M/year to $15.3M/year

Read a text wrong—it's not an extension. It's a raise, per source, to the existing deal. So he's under contract for the next two years at $34.25 million, and up after 2025.

He gets a $4 million raise this year. He gets early vesting to guarantees next year.

Sounds like they gave him a $4M raise this year and guaranteed next years salary and then added two years.

Will have to see how the #Jets look without JFM. They saved $7.3M in cap room and $13.9M in cash with the trade. If this was all money driven (and seems it was) Id rather have had JFM on a redone deal than signing Kinlaw for $7.3M.
