If you work at least 35 hours as per min requirements to get carers allowance that’s £81.90
Then, you manage somehow, to find a job doing 13 hours a week to ensure you stay under £151 you are “allowed” a week. That’s £232.90. So for 48 hours work, you earn £4.85 an hour 🧵

Urged to by my GP, I applied to receive PIP 4 times, & was rejected every time. I also appealed every time to no avail. Was once asked during this painful process when I expected my cerebral palsy “to get better”.
FFS.

I am disabled, work full time & receive PIP. I haven’t used a sick line in almost 4 years.

PIP is largely the reason I am able to remain in work - it pays the expenses the NHS is failing to meet (due to cost cuts & waiting lists).

It doesn’t even come close to being enough.

The eldest child of a shop worker caught covid and went into hospital. The mum rang DWP to explain why she would miss an upcoming #UniversalCredit appointment. DWP said her child being in hospital was not a good enough reason to miss the appt and sanctioned her. #SickNoteSunak
