Detectives are investigating the City’s seventh homicide of the year. This incident is under investigation by the KCKPD Major Case Unit. Anyone w/information is asked to call the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS. You can remain anonymous and may qualify for a reward.

KCKPD Headquarters will be closed for the remainder of the day due to an electrical outage in the area . This does not impact our communications center or officer response to calls for service.

Update - The driver of the striking vehicle has come forward.

We are looking for a newer model, four-door, black BMW with tinted windows and front-end damage that struck and killed a woman tonight just before 7 PM at 55th & Leavenworth RD. If you have information related to this incident call the Crime Stoppers TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department, with the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation – Kansas City Office, has arrested the two suspects they believe are responsible for a series of bank robberies in the City last week.

The suspect in the September 15th shots-fired incident outside a Wyandotte High School football game, was arrested and charged late this afternoon.
