Following the Announcement of the British Embassy this morning the museums will be closed tomorrow, March 24th for an official visit by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.
The museums will re-open as normal on Friday.

It is just 14 days until the official opening of Waterford's newest museum & Ireland's National Horological Collection!

At the Coppergate dig, two Viking-age coin dies were found.
Using a hammer, the dies were used to imprint a design on a metal coin. One of the designs references Saint Peter, the patron saint of York Minster. It also shows a sword and hammer, thought to be the hammer of Thor.

Loved this project. We made this digital model from a CT scan of a not visible vessel (it is wrapped in original cloth) for National Museums Scotland. Part of #GallowayHoard . Scan Dr Dan O'Flynn British Museum reprocessed by us to bring out surface details. Leopards & Tigers in a viking hoard?
