In 1994, one million children, women & men were killed in the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.

We will never forget the victims.

Nor will we ever forget the bravery & resilience of those who survived, whose courage & willingness to forgive remain a burst of light & hope.

The date for the 3rd edition of the Africa Forum for Displacement has been revealed!

#AFD3 will take place from 27-30 April 2025 in Nairobi, as announced by The Amahoro Coalition CEO Isaac Kwaku at a high level session hosted by the UN High-Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva.

We are happy to be part of the Global Refugee Forum in Geneva this week! This morning we hosted a deconstructed roundtable to discuss local solutions to Africa’s displacement crisis. Over 30 participants attended the breakfast meeting.

Thrilled to have joined such a dynamic discussion at the UNHCR #GlobalRefugeeForum 2023. It's inspiring to see diverse minds converge on solutions for displacement in Africa. The insights from Dr. Sangu Delle, Louange Akossiwa Koffi, & Dr. James Mwangi-CEO Equity Bank Kenya were invaluable.

Rich countries are giving poor countries a whole lot of money to cope with climate change. But where is that money actually going? To western consultancies and NGOs. Why am I not surprised.

Sudan has now hit the 7⃣-month mark since conflict broke out in April, making #Sudan one of the worst humanitarian crises in recent history.

It is the largest displacement and child displacement crisis in the world.

Sudanese people deserve peace.

Since its establishment in 2020 بنك التصدير والاستيراد السعودي has made deals totaling $1.2 billion to #Africa and plans to increase that to $10 billion. Great to see the continent diversifying its partnerships.

From co-convening the Africa Forum on Displacement last week to Riyadh for the #Saudi #Africa Summit this week - I am exhausted but yet encouraged by the amazing work folks are doing to make the world a better place despite all that is happening right around us. The world needs respite!
