Happy 95th birthday to the Dunbar Hotel! Originally the Somerville, it opened on June 23, 1928. An instant landmark, it sparked the area’s development and was an important gathering place for celebrities, intellectuals, and leaders: from W. E. B. Du Bois to Duke Ellington.
