On my way to #DRCongo to shine a spotlight on one of the world’s largest & most complex humanitarian crises, yet one of the most neglected. I’ll meet a range of stakeholders with the aim of ensuring adequate protection & assistance for people affected by the worsening conflict.

Under IHL, parties must ensure access to food, water, and medical supplies.

People are hungry and desperate. The trickle of aid into #Gaza falls far short of what is needed.

More needs to be done.

They are all protected under International Humanitarian Law

Even wars have limits.

All this civilian harm is entirely foreseeable and must be expected from military attacks.

Because war is not a lawless space...You cannot win the war at all cost, at the expense of the civilian population'.
