If the Lakers lose at NOP, they'd likely fall to the 10, if GSW and SAC are able to beat Utah and Portland, respectively, at home.

PHX has the tiebreaker over NOP, so if LAL beat NOP, and PHX beats MIN, PHX would be the 6, NOP the 7, and LAL the 8, meaning LAL would stay in New Orleans.

If LAL beat NOP and PHX loses at MIN, NOP is the 6, and LAL would travel to PHX.

Lakers got some help with both the Kings and Suns losing.

The Lakers can now secure the No. 8 seed with a win at New Orleans.

Meanwhile, the current top 3 in the West would hold at OKC 1, MIN 2 and DEN 3 if all 3 win their final game due to 3-team tiebreaker.

If SAC holds on to beat PHX, SAC would secure a higher place than LAL if they beat POR at home.

If Suns lose to SAC and MIN, Kings beat POR and LAL beat NOP, LAL still finish 9th (they’d lose a 3-team tiebreaker w/all at 47 wins).

With New Orleans winning at Golden State, the Lakers again control their own destiny against GSW, and can secure at minimum the 9 seed with a win vs. NOP.

Lakers have a chance to move up further if PHX rallies to beat SAC (Suns down 3 with 9:43 left)…

A ridiculous individual play from LeBron sealed the win and got him to 37 points with 9 boards, 5 assists and 2 steals:

Hasn't been a typical night for LAL's starting group together.

Gabe Vincent is a +27 in his 19 bench minutes in a game LAL lead by only 4 with 7:14 left.

Gabe Vincent with some important minutes here, as he hit a wing 3, then drew an offensive foul amidst a Lakers run that was capped by AD's put-back of Vincent's transition 3.

LAL lead 107-99, now on a 25-8 run.

Signifying the importance of this result for LAL, Anthony Davis is staying on the floor to start the 4th Q, after playing the entire 3rd Q.

LAL closed the 3rd Q with a 16-6 push to reclaim the lead at 98-97 with 12 minutes to play.

Anthony Davis has done his part as usual, with 28 points, 11 boards, 5 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal already.

LeBron really picked things up defensively and sparked a run here, as LAL trim what had grown to a 9-point deficit at the 4:42 mark.

Lakers now lead at the 2:00 mark after an AD jumper.

Memphis hit its 13th 3-pointer of the evening to open a 77-75 lead at the 7:26 mark of the 3rd Q, as Pippen Jr. - Jackson - LaRavia - Goodwin - Jamison outplayed LAL's starters.

If the Lakers lose this game, they basically lock themselves into the No. 10 spot.

Nearly the entire opening day MEM roster spent much of the 2nd Q standing on the bench cheering on a group of young/new Grizzlies playing super hard.

They outscored LAL 29-20 in the 2nd Q to trim LAL's 13-point lead to 4 at the half.

Not great energy from several Lakers.

A pair of good plays from Jaxson Hayes helped LAL go up 44-32, as he finished a tough layup after sprinting the court in transition, and then swatted a Grizzly at the rim to spark a transition 3 from Prince.

LAL scored the final 8 points of the 1st Q to take a 34-26 lead into the 2nd Q.

Anthony Davis, after missing 7 of the last 8 quarters, led the way with 13 points and 5 boards in the period.

Anthony Davis has a pair of buckets inside, and Reaves a 3, but LAL have already been outworked for a pair of offensive rebounds leading to points, and conceded a careless turnover leading to a layup resulting in a 7-all early tie in Memphis.
