I have been enjoying watching her campaign but I also love the graciousness from RISE Mzansi KZN premier candidate Nonkululeko Hlongwane-Mhlongo in this article. She acknowledges the hard work done by Christopher Pappas. They would be great in the legislature together maybe even cosponsoring bills.

I am so glad the ethics of SA's polling industry has become a part of this election's public discourse. Democracies around the world have long recognised the problem of how dubious polls manipulate voting outcomes & have either laws in place or rules set by their election bodies.

So, the ANC still has not expelled Jacob Zuma? So their member is in the Electoral court fighting to be a candidate for another party...

Indeed. Gauteng’s GDP is near 3 times the size of the WC’s. KZN is second & WC third. There are enough indicators the Western Cape is better at. I don’t get the need to perpetuate the lie about it being the economic centre of the country everyone is moving to. It’s just not true.

Phumzile Van Damme Really stumps me that this is an issue to campaign on in an election. Surely we suppose to live in a country where we NOW have freedom of movement. Why make it an issue??? It is a NON issue, it is a reality. Find resources to address the needs.

The Western Cape, Northern Cape, North West, Gauteng, and Mpumalanga have positive net migration. Why do people move? Numerous reasons. Work (22.9%), marriage (15.5%) Schooling (12.9%), Job transfer (12.8%)

There is some disinformation about province-to-province migration in South Africa. What say StatsSA's latest census?

Gauteng, not the Western Cape, has the highest net influx of inter-provincial migrants.

It’s a no from us as South Africans. We are a very progressive nation that understands that the state does not get to police people’s religious choices, bodily autonomy, sexuality or anything else which frankly remains firmly in the domain of the individual.

For the record, now that MK is definitely on the ballot, Mpumalanga should be on everyone’s radar. The swings there may be significant, and surprising.

The markdata poll picked it up. The one by-election in Govan Mbeki picked it up. I’m informally hearing some MP rumblings.
