Gull Bay First Nation Chief Wilfred King says he and his council “Vehemently oppose” the proposal to have Canada’s nuclear waste travel through the territory en route to Ignace.

“They need our consent as well.”

Fort William First Nation Chief Michele Solomon says her community & Anishinabek Nation have passed repeated resolutions to oppose nuclear waste being transported through the territory.
“The safety of all our communities, we need to have a say in that, not just two communities.”

Great turn out in Thunder Bay. The resistance is growing.

Stephen Lecce and his caucus seem not to have learned about the impact of inflation and population growth when they learned basic math, but I’m sure one of the Minister’s new math coaches could probably walk them through how it affects education spending.

The Conservative Government is allowing multi billion dollar companies to pay workers LESS than minimum wage by finding loopholes in Digital Worker Rights Protections Act. Enough is enough! These workers deserve real protections and meaningful pay for the work they do.

This is a crucial first step to ensure we are prepared for the climate challenges to our forests. Forest firefighters are essential and their WSIB protection is key to their lives and by extent to our communities’ future.

Finally, forest firefighters have the protection they deserve with WSIB coverage.
This is a significant milestone and a testament to the tireless advocacy of forest firefighters.
There is more to do and this is an important first step.
