We need rent controls that bring down rents, improve quality and are tied to the property not the tenancy.

We can’t let our politicians infighting water down rent controls for Scotland’s tenants.

Tenants across Scotland are desperate for rent controls.

Our politicians need to make sure that the rent controls that are passed into law bring down rents, improve quality and are tied to the property not the tenancy as well as greater protections against evictions.

Now that the Bute House Agreement has ended, members across Scotland need to push to ensure that the rent controls delivered are strong, robust, and work for tenants.

Join Living Rent to ensure that rent controls are delivered in Scotland.

Stock buy back is great news for tenants.

It is something that we have been campaigning on for years and won successfully in Edinburgh.

Local authorities need the powers to bring properties in the PRS back into public hands.

The pantomime in Holyrood shows that rent controls will only be brought forward if we force it.

Yesterday we wrote to Humza Yousaf and other ministers in the Scottish government asking them to commit their government to introducing robust rent controls that bring down rents, improve quality and are tied to the property, not the tenancy.

Holyrood's squabbles highlight that change only happens when we force it.

For Scotland to deliver rent controls, everyone who supports rent controls needs to come together to push for the change we need.

The Bute House agreement is over, but rent controls can not be allowed to go with it. Rent controls are a hugely needed policy to address Scotland's housing crisis.

If the SNP wants the backing of tenants they will keep their commitment to renters and the policies that we need.

The Scottish parliament is consulting on the Housing Bill.

Scottish Government consultations showed clear support for rent controls, now we need to come together to do the same with this one.

Tenants in Scotland, let's show parliament that we need strong, watertight rent controls.

Landlords can not be trusted to regulate themselves.

Our research found that half of evictions are due to the landlord saying that they are selling the property, and nearly a third of these turned out to be false.

We need the government to penalise landlords who break the law.

Pity the landlords with their multiple properties, passive income and huge assets increasing in value. 🎻🎻

Letting agents are right, tenants *should* look after their landlords. 🙃

Stories like this are so common across Scotland.

Our homes are falling apart as landlords continue to hike up rents.

We need rent controls tied to the quality of the property and to bring rents down.

Landlords love to claim rent caps force them to increase rents (as if they need any encouragement) but the rent cap showed the need for stronger rent controls.

Landlords increased rents between tenancies. We need controls tied to the property not tenancy and to bring rents down.

A massive moment. Down to the hard work of members and staff who have spent years working to make this happen.

Today we are out door knocking in the rain, taking action at letting agents to keep rents low, speaking to the press, making meeting agendas, planning fundraisers.
