.Governor Laura Kelly and I traveled to Parsons to present Tank Connection with the 2023 Governor's Exporter of the Year award. Their work as a global leader in manufacturing storage systems helped Kansas achieve a record-breaking $14B in exports last year. A well-deserved win.

To wrap up #WomensHistoryMonth , I want to wish a happy 99th Birthday to Connie Palacioz, our #KS Rosie the Riveter! She worked on the 1,644 Boeing B-29’s built in Wichita during WWII, building what FDR called the 'grand arsenal of democracy' — & proving that we Kansans CAN do it!

Toured Finley Farms in Edgerton yesterday with Rep. Sharice Davids, Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small, Senator Pat Roberts & Kansas Dept of Ag Secretary Beam. Agriculture fuels the state's success, & seeing the Finley family's dedication firsthand as they work to feed families and drive our economy was inspiring.

It was great meeting Irish Consul General Consul General Robert Hull during his #StPatricksDay visit last week! Engaging discussion on Kansas-Ireland economic opportunities and how we can build on the $20M in Kansas goods exported to Ireland in 2023.

We've opened a new door of growth in Kansas City with the announcement that Marvin Windows will build its latest manufacturing facility right here in Kansas. I'm proud to have been there yesterday morning to celebrate this window of opportunity for our great state.

It was a pleasure to speak with Canadian Consul General Sylvain Fabi last week about how we can further the economic relationship between Kansas and Canada - our 2nd largest trading partner!

Great meeting with the Czech Consul General during his visit to the Sunflower State to promote a more robust economic relationship between #KS & the Czech Republic. We exported more than $15M of #KS goods to Czechia in 2023, & we're committed to growth in 2024.

Productive discussion with members of the British-American Parliamentary Group and the Deputy Consul General from UK Consulate Chicago last week. Strengthening the economic relationship with our 8th largest trading partner will be key as we continue growing the Kansas economy.

Nothing quite compares to touring a decommissioned Cold War era missile silo on a Thursday during Spring Break in Wilson. Had a blast at the Atlas Ad Astra Missile Silo, learned a bit & am thankful for the opportunity to share it with some of the great people of Kansas Department of Commerce.

Progress as promised. We were here for conversations about concepts. Here for the groundbreaking, and now, we've cut the ribbon on the Grow Hays MicroFactory. The only thing left to do is fill this thing up with new manufacturing in northwest Kansas!

Honored to celebrate National League of Cities where it all began for their 100-year milestone. A century since their founding at University of Kansas, they've grown to be a key resource for local government leaders across the nation. Here's to another 100 years of progress!

Had the opportunity to sit down with Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce during their legislative day at the Capitol this week. Great discussion on the economic growth in Wichita and across the state, along with how we can support this momentum during this session and beyond.

I wasn’t sure about judging chili at 10AM on a busy Thursday, but it was actually fantastic. Congrats to the Commerce culinary crew that cooked up these amazing recipes.

It was great to be back in Wichita to celebrate the first cohort of apprentices through the collaboration of Bombardier & @WSUtech. Our goal is to be a top 25 state for apprenticeship by 2025, & I have no doubt that the apprentices in the room will help #KS get there.
