The web OS of the future will likely grow out of a web based whiteboard (quite possibly tldraw). Seems like a crazy prediction but I’m more convinced than ever. Tech is there is just a matter of connecting the dots.

@tee9540 Currently open ai is in the lead with Microsoft in the sidecar, followed by G quickly accelerating, Apple still in the garage polishing, meta / open source busy doing an A team like build in the scrap yard.

Meta being the unexpected open source champion is likely due to the fact they don’t own the OS or the entry is point to web (browser/search). They are vulnerable hence the push to get their own platform (vr/ar). Open sourcing llama is a sort of fuck it bomb designed to crash the

Modern equivalent of the portable CD player we used to bring the beach. Given the size it does a decent job.

Got the parts to build a custom 2.1 “portable” boombox. Only issue is the weight given my choice of components 8 or 10” sub? and materials (inch thick wood), plus big

I wonder if universal basic compute is openai’s spin on meat computers attention for rent. As they say if you are not paying for the product, you are the product.

To put that another way. We are entering a new reality in which its easier and faster to ask AI to build an app from scratch then it is to search google and find one matching your requirements. This is zero cost / effort on demand software.

Doing prep for the webinar earlier I realised my lighting was kinda crap and thought why not use a screen as a light. Imagined a single page app with brightness and color temp sliders. Rather than searching G for such an app it was easier to gen on demand with AI. Worked great :)
