Oh my God the protests are expanding! We're up to 0.67% of all the universities in the country!

That means only 99.33% of American universities are going about business as usual. This is a national crisis!!!

On the contrary, there appear to have been quite a lot of outside agitators:

“Of the 282 protesters cuffed and hauled away during a massive NYPD operation late Tuesday, 134 of them had zero affiliation with either school”

This is true, and explains a lot. Fwiw I don’t think the cause of the struggle is “boredom.” I think human beings are hard-wired for a life of struggle and difficulty. If there are no external causes for those struggles they are compelled to create them.

There are 6,000 colleges and universities in America, and there are significant protests at 30 of them. One half of one percent.
There is no chaos on American campuses.
Corporate media - on both sides - wants you to believe there is so they can make money.

many things can simultaneously true: Hamas is a terrorist organization that must be defeated, Netanyahu is awful & made Israel less safe, Palestinians face a horrible situation, many of the protestors are ridiculous, and the police are escalating situations that could be calmed.

I feel no rancor toward these students; I’m sure I’d like many of them. I’m sorry this is how they have to learn how the world works, that when you break the law to where police get involved it’s never nice. But having police has also enabled them to live very sheltered lives.

This is precisely what is happening. They literally published Project 2025 and barely anyone is covering it and how insane it is. –– The public doesn’t understand the risks of a Trump victory. That’s the media’s fault | Margaret Sullivan theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

The students (some out of idealism, others out of hateful bigotry) are doing what adolescents and young adults will sometimes do.
These faculty, however, are abdicating multiple responsibilities, as mentors, scholars, and officers of instruction of the university.

If I were there, I would walk with that kid to get him past those folks. Let them try to give me that crap.

But more importantly, anyone trying to stop people from getting to and from, especially if it’s targeted to just certain people, needs to be arrested and removed,

Israel's choice: Rafah or Riyadh — There's no major Israeli leader today in the ruling coalition, the opposition or the military who is consistently helping Israelis understand the choice between being Middle East partner or global pariah

German exports to Russia plus all of Central Asia and the Caucasus are a rounding error compared to overall exports. Any claim that stopping these exports will drive Germany into recession is nonsense. Germany - and all the other EU countries - should stop these exports outright.

Guy who bitches about the degradation and dislocation of the working man at the hands of modern technology, belittles a heroic anti-totalitarian dissident for not being as good at his original profession as his big tech made phone.

It’s a choice, I guess.

Seems like an important story that isn't getting reported. Perhaps because there isn't a tidy oppression narrative to advance?

A MUST read for school principals and superintendents, and for parents of teens…especially teen girls.

Banning cellphones improved grades, decreased bullying, and more.
