Congrats President Cyril Ramaphosa 🇿🇦 & people of South Africa🇿🇦 on the signing of the National Health Insurance Bill into law. It’s an important step towards health equity & a strong commitment to achieving health for all. World Health Organization (WHO) is committed to supporting its implementation.
Deeply honoured for the lifetime achievement award by the Medical Women’s International Association received on my behalf by Dr Nathan Bakyaita , World Health Organization (WHO) representative in Zambia. It’s my sincere hope that this recognition will inspire young women to pursue careers in public health!

We delivered over 12 tons of medical supplies to Kenya Red Cross, strengthening government and partner efforts.
My thoughts are with communities devastated by floods in Kenya that have affected 227 000 people.
Over 700 first responders trained by World Health Organization (WHO) have been deployed in the most affected areas. We're working closely with the government & partners in the efforts to scale up the response.
Today, in a major step forward for public health in the African region, WHO African Region, governments & partners launched the Africa Health Workforce Investment Charter, with the strong ambition to reinforce, grow and retain the health labour force.

Greatly honoured to present today World Health Organization (WHO) certification to Namibia for reaching a major public health milestone in the path to eliminating mother-to-child transmission of HIV and hepatitis B. Huge congrats H.E Dr Nangolo Mbumba & the people of Namibia for this remarkable progress!
Had insightful roundtable today on Rethinking Malaria Elimination in Nigeria.
While progress has been made, we're falling off track. We must reignite & step up the pace. I thank H.E Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon Muhammad Ali Pate for the leadership to drive Nigeria's malaria elimination agenda.
