P1a 🌈StMonicasMilton🌈 participated in the Liturgical season of Lent by learning The Stations of the Cross. We collected or created an object to help us remember each Station. We strive to live and love like Jesus our Teacher every day.

P1a 🌈StMonicasMilton🌈 demonstrated excellent skills of creativity, problem solving and teamwork as they worked to design and build their own Scottish castle. Tomorrow we will evaluate our constructions based on the key features of a castle. Well done Superstars!

P1a 🌈StMonicasMilton🌈 are learning to sequence a story. We helped each other to put the pictures in order. Then we worked in groups to create story boards. Finally, we retold The Gruffalo in our own words using loud, clear voices! 📖 🌟 ❤️

We sorted Summer and Winter clothes, dressed Stick Man for Summer and used ‘hot’ and ‘cold’ colours to create seasonal collages featuring Stick Man.

As part of our Stick Man mini topic, P1a 🌈StMonicasMilton🌈 investigated Length by gathering sticks, sorting according to Long or Short then ordering by length. ⭐️

P1a 🌈StMonicasMilton🌈 are becoming dab hands at counting and ordering to 10. We can find the number before, the number after and the number in between. And we even found different ways of making totals of 3 and 4! We love investigating numbers using Numicon!

P1a’s first Writing lesson 🌈StMonicasMilton🌈 was a success! We ordered our words into a sentence. We identified the Capital Letter to begin and the Full Stop to end. Using our fine motor skills we traced our sentence. And some of us even copied it independently below! ✏️🌟❤️

P1a 🌈StMonicasMilton🌈 are recognising, saying, blending, reading and writing words using ‘a’, ‘t’, ‘s’ and ‘i ’. With help from our ‘Stick Man’ topic. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s Writing session. Look out for us writing our first full sentence! ✏️ 🙏
