The severe weather is gone, but an upper low sagging southward from the Great Lakes will bring unseasonably cool, variably cloudy conditions to the area for the rest of the week. Scattered rain showers will be possible mainly in the mountains.

Memorial Day afternoon was quieter than Sunday. Can't rule out a few showers this evening but most will be dry with clearing skies. Lows will range from the 50s in the mountains with lower 60s in the Piedmont. The rest of the week is looking mainly dry with lower humidity.

Once this morning's showers exit, we will have another shot at severe weather across the Piedmont this afternoon. Mainly concerned with damaging winds and large hail, although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
