We've received some reports of a Tsunami Warning from Manu'a. However, there is NO tsunami warning at this time.

A High Surf Warning is now in effect for Tutuila, Aunuu, and Manua through tonight.

While wave heights and surfs are expected to be much lower than the July 12-14 event, preparations and precautions should still be taken as significant injury or death is possible.

A Small Stream Flood Advisory is in effect for Tutuila and Aunu'u until 6 PM SST this evening. There are no advisories in effect for the Manu'a Islands at this time.

A High Surf Advisory and a Small Craft Advisory remain in effect through the rest of tonight. However, seas and surfs are forecast to subside below advisory levels on Saturday and remain there into Sunday.

Otherwise, expect scattered showers and light winds this weekend.

Improving weather conditions are expected Saturday. Surfs will not be as high as in recent days, nor will winds be as strong. However, it will still be breezy and seas will remain rough.

BASED ON ALL AVAILABLE DATA... THERE IS NO TSUNAMI THREAT TO AMERICAN SAMOA FROM THIS EARTHQUAKE.

Strong winds, rough seas, and dangerous surfs are in the forecast for American Samoa from Wednesday through Friday. A Wind Advisory and a High Surf Warning will likely both be needed during that time. Numerous (60 to 70 percent) passing showers are expected as well.
