Two of the worst tornadoes in Iowa's history happened today, in 1968. The 1960s also had another F5 tornado event nearby, in Belmond, Iowa, Oct 14th, 1966.

Another round of rain is expected late tonight and Thursday. While rainfall amounts look to be light, locally heavier amounts are possible in thunderstorms. While not certain, there is a low risk of isolated severe storms Thursday afternoon mainly east of the Mississippi.
