Seems to me that the way elections results are habitually presented, as percentages of votes cast, is not particularly informative. Much better to see either absolute figures or percentage of the whole electorate, so we can see whether change is due to switching or no-shows.

I would strongly urge Kate Forbes MSP *not* to stand for the leadership of the SNP. Whatever her good intentions may be, her presence on the ballot will polarise debate and damage public perception of the party in the run up to the 2024 WM election.

Let’s all just remember this for next time some hyper-unionist Labour clown insists Scotland and Wales are not nations and therefore have no right to national self-determination.
