We participated in several focus groups, 3 technical roundtables & watched every committee hearing thru HUMA & SOCI.

We heard NOT ONE person recommend using the DTC as a gateway to the underfunded .

We heard lots of folks recommend against it.

Canada Disability Benefit funding in the federal budget fell far short of what's needed, advocates say. Will Doug Ford protect ODSP rates when the new federal money rolls out? They're not saying yet. Me for TVO.me: tvo.org/article/aspira…

Since the expansion of in 2021, we've argued the 'suffering' that may cause ppl to seek MAiD is not due to their disability but to a lack of proper support

When MAiD is easier to get than in this man's case, a proper mattress, we have gone too far

It's counterintuitive to think those receiving below poverty level benefits – and dealing w/housing & food insecurity – can successfully reintegrate into the labour force.

Current social-assistance rates serve not as a springboard but as a black hole.

ON govt fails to live up to its human rights commitments in Budget 2024

Ford govt has largely steered clear of overt spending cuts, preferring instead the slow erosion of social programs through inflation and population growth.

Among all provinces, ON’s per capita spending on public services is dead last. By a lot.

Doctors, nurses, teachers are fleeing. Food bank use is at record levels. Tent cities are everywhere.

Profit & privatization is the overarching goal.
