New paper: Concentrations of the plasticiser DEHP (leeching out of common household plastic products) in range with those in Mediterranean coastal waters affect egg number and -diameter in blue mussels. The grey line typically determines minimum diameters of fertilized eggs. 🧵

So I wrote this little paper showing that evolutionary constraint can be predicted from a gene's position within the PPI network. Sure, there are a lot of other processes at play. But I do think this is important, as it seems to hold up for both yeast and mammals..

We find that fish experiencing directional selection when harvesting perform worse than fish experiencing random selection under thermal stress scenarios.
