Our fantastically tuneful strikers have been outside Museum of Liverpool for 8 weeks asking National Museums Liverpool for one thing: the money they’re rightfully owed.

Our current strike period is over but we’ll see you back on the picket lines the 4th of May.

Liverpool’s celebrated local museums pay so poorly that its workers go home to cold homes and empty cupboards. It’s no wonder they have gone on strike to demand the better wages they deserve.

Management National Museums Liverpool has still found no way to end this dispute and pay us what we deserve, so the fight continues.

We love our museums and galleries full of life and activity, but whilst so many staff struggle to survive on poverty wages, we'll remain on strike. #NMLPayUp

For how long, though, is the question...

This 8 weeks of strike might be over soon, but the dispute isn't resolved. Pay us what we're owed, end this dispute, and get us all back to normal. Simple, really.

Our Humans of the Picket Line series returns today with Leo, a striking worker who usually welcomes visitors into Walker Art Gallery.

He, like many National Museums Liverpool workers, is struggling to keep up with constant food and utility price hikes.

Whatever the weather we’ll be out here until National Museums Liverpool does the right thing and pays its staff the £1500 cost of living payment they deserve.

Good morning from a blustery picket line outside Museum of Liverpool!

We were joined by Merseyside Socialist Alternative who came down to support us as we go into Week 8 of our strike action against National Museums Liverpool, who are still withholding the £1500 cost of living payment from their staff.

Thank you to the fantastic artist Mollie Balshaw for making some noise with us at our picket this morning.

Their work was featured in this year’s John Moores Painting Prize at Walker Art Gallery which sadly closed early as National Museums Liverpool refused to do right by their staff.

Gutting that National Museums Liverpool inability to end this dispute has led to them cancelling a major part of #TDOV2024 .

It was our union that pushed for, developed, and implemented groundbreaking policy for Trans workers at NML.
